MEYTHET COMMUNAL CEMETERY
Haute-Savoie

Location Information

Meythet is a village and commune in the department of the Haute Savoie, about one kilometre north-west of Annecy, the chief town of the department. The communal cemetery is on the south-east side of the village about 500 metres from the junction of the roads to Metz and Epagny. The airmen's graves are right of the entrance to the right and rear of the war memorial.

113752 Flying Officer Sydney John Congdon, D. F. M. Navigator (Bomber) in 138 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 15th August 1943, aged 26. Son of Charles Henry and Helen Congdon; husband of Mary Elizabeth Congdon, of Totnes, Devon. INSCRIPTION. IN PROUD AND HAPPY MEMORY OF SYDNEY. KILLED ON OPERATIONS.

1546295 Flight Sergeant Francis Pollard, Air Gunner in 138 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 15th August 1943, aged 22. Son of John and Mary Agnes Pollard, of Bury, Lancashire. INSCRIPTION. ON WHOSE SOUL, SWEET JESUS, HAVE MERCY. OUR LADY HELP OF CHRISTIANS, PRAY FOR HIM.
