Location Information

Martainville is 16 kilometres east of Rouen, on the N.30 road from Rouen to Gournayen-Bray. Epreville is a hamlet 2 kilometres south of Martainville, and the two Localities form the commune of Martainville-Épreville. The British grave is situated near the south-east corner of Martainville Churchyard.


Burial Details


72996 Second Lieutenant Jarvis Whitehead, Royal Army Service Corps, died 8th June 1940, aged 24. Son of Herbert M. and Ellen Aline Martell Whitehead, of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. His headstone bears the inscription "In Loving Memory"
