Location Information

Licques is a village and commune 15 miles (24 kilometres) east-north-east of Boulogne-sur-Mer, and 18 kilometres east-south-east of Marquise, a town on the Boulogne-Calais road (N.L). The most convenient station is at Marquise, where taxis are available. The cemetery is on the D.191 road which leads from the village square to the church and to Marquise. The two British graves are in the south-eastern part, near the southern boundary hedge


Burial Details

1914671 Sapper James Mair, 707 Gen. Constr. Coy., Royal Engineers, died between 22nd May 1940 and 4th June 1940, aged 31. Nephew of Mrs. A. N. Gillies, of Low Fenwick, Ayrshire.

1914698 Sapper Daniel Robertson Mitchell, 07 Gen. Constr. Coy. Royal Engineers, died between 22nd May 1940 and 4th June 1940, aged 23. Son of Daniel Robertson Mitchell and Elizabeth Aird Mitchell, of Prestwick, Ayrshire.
