Lachalade is a village and commune 27.5 miles (44 kilometres) north-north-west of Bar-le-Duc and 18.75 miles (30 kilometres) west of Verdun. In the churchyard, near the west wall, are the graves of seven airmen. Four of them belonged to the Royal Air Force, two to the Royal Australian Air Force and one to the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
