Lacanau-Océan is a seaside village and commune in the noted wine-growing district of Médoc. It is 52 kilometres west of Bordeaux, at the end of a secondary road (N215/D6) from Bordeaux through St. Medard-En-Jailles and Ste. Helene to the coast. To find the Communal Cemetery, take the access road marked 'Plage Nord' and follow almost to the beach. There is a road to the right signposted 'Camping Airotel de l'Océan'. Go past the campsite and the Cemetery is on the right.
There is 1 Commonwealth burial of the 1939-1945 war here, to the left of the main path, 19 metres from the gate.

922344 Sergeant Edmund Hollinghurst, Pilot in 217 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 18th June 1941, aged 25. Son of Frank and Annie Hollinghurst, of Bournemouth, Hampshire.
