DEÛLÉMONT COMMUNAL CEMETERY

Location Information
Deûlémont is a village and commune about 9 miles (14 kilometres) north-west of Lille, on the Franco-Belgian border. It has a railway station on the Lille-Comines line. The cemetery is on the north-eastern side of the village where the N.345 (Armentieres-Halluin) road crosses the D.108 road to Warneton in Belgium. The two British graves are about 15 yards north-east of the Calvary near the rear of the cemetery.

2869825 Sergeant Keith Smith, 4th Bn. Gordon Highlanders, died 27th May 1940, aged 34. Husband of Jessie Bella Smith, of Aberdeen.
85508 Second Lieutenant Deryk Reginald Stanfield, 4 Medium Regiment, Royal Artillery, died 27th May 1940, aged 21. Son of Maj. Joseph Reginald Montague Stanfield and Dorothy Louise Stanfield, of St. Mawes, Cornwall.
