558131 Lance Bombardier William Colesby, 102 (The Northumberland Hussars) Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery, died 20th August 1944, aged 22. Son of William and Susannah Denham Colesby, of Simonside, South Shields, Co. Durham. His headstone bears the inscription "Greater Love Hath No Man Than This, That A Man Lay Down His Life For His Friends"
