Caumont L'Éventé is a small town and commune 34 kilometres west-south-west of Caen, 23 kilometres south-south-west of Bayeux, and 23 kilometres east-south-east of St. Lo.
The communal cemetery is on the west side of the town, 100 yards south of the junction of the D.13 (Caumont L'Évente to Torigni-sur-Vire) and the D.11 (Caumont L'Evente to St. Lo) roads. There is 1 Commonwealth burial of the 1939-1945 war here, 23 yards north-west of the stone crucifix in the centre of the cemetery.

5618585 Rifleman Tom Dear, 9th Bn. Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), died 30th July 1944, aged 26. Son of Tom and Daisy Dear. his headstone bears the inscription "Good-Night Till We Meet Again When The Day Dawns And The Shadows Flee Away"
