Location Information

The village and commune of Cahan is 16 kilometres north-east of Flers-de-l'Orne, a town on the Argentan-Vire-Granville road (N.24 bis). The communal cemetery is near the church. There are 4 Commonwealth burials of the 1939-1945 war here, in the western corner.

5th August 1944, aged 34. 

Son of John and Jane Bailey; husband of Winifred May Bailey, of Littlehampton, Sussex.

His headstone bears the inscription "Till We Meet Again"

179866 Pilot Officer Donald Murray, Air Gunner in in 88 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 5th August 1944, aged 19. Son of Donald Henry and Irene Murray, of Wickford, Essex.

179826 Pilot Officer Robert Francis Rosemond, Wireless Operator (Air) in 88 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 5th August 1944, aged 24. Son of Annie Dickson, of Dundee; nephew of Miss M. Rosemond, of Dundee. His headstone bears the inscription "Thy Will Be Done" On Whose Soul, Sweet Jesus, Have Mercy"
