BRIEY COMMUNAL CEMETERY

Location Information

Briey is a small town about 63 kilometres north-north-west of Nancy and 6 kilometres north of Valleroy. The Communal Cemetery is north of the town on the road to the neighbouring village of Marcieulles.



Burial Details

988200 Sergeant (Air Gunner) Jethro Nathaniel Enwright, 78 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 11th April 1943, aged 28. Son of James and Mary Jane Enright, of Horden, Co. Durham.

1034195 Flight Sergeant (Wireless Operator and Air Gunner) Jack William Goulbourn, 156 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 24th February 1944, aged 23. Son of George Henderson Goulbourn and Florence Goulbourn; husband of Annie Goulbourn, of Wallsend, Northumberland.

1802543 Flight Sergeant (Air Gunner) Stanley Isidore Miller, 156 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 24th February 1944.

172563 Pilot Officer (Air Gunner) James Michael Woodburn, 156 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 24th February 1944, aged 24. Son of John and Winifred Woodburn, of Kimmage, Dublin, Irish Republic.
