Location Information

The village and commune of Bréel is about 15 kilometres east-north-east of Flers-de-l'Orne, a town on the Argentan-Vire-Granville road (N.24 bis). There are 3 Commonwealth burials of the 1939-1945 war here, near the eastern boundary of the churchyard.


Burial Details


67266 Flying Officer John Bigland Tulk-Hart Bigland, Navigator in 69 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th August 1944, aged 34. Son of Thomas I. A. Tulk-Hart and Madeline Blanche Tulk-Hart; husband of Miza Pauline Bigland, of Backbarrow, Lancashire. INSCRIPTION. HE HATH DELIVERED MY SOUL IN PEACE FROM THE BATTLE THAT WAS AGAINST ME".

182464 Pilot Officer Kenneth Frederick Rawlinson, Air Gunner in 69 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 8th August 1944, aged 24. Son of Arthur Henry and Margareta Elizabeth Rawlinson, of Richmond, Surrey.

40035 Squadron Leader Kenneth George John Wakefield, Pilot in 69 Squadron, Royal Air Force, died 8th August 1944, aged 29. Son of Alfred Thomas Wakefield and Mary Gertrude Wakefield; husband of Margaret Joyce Yrene Wakefield, of Brighton, Sussex.
