Location Information

Bohain is a town lying 20 kilometres north-east of St. Quentin on the road to Le Cateau. The Communal Cemetery is in the north-western part of the town between the road to Premont and the road to Brancourt.

​Near the middle of the northern boundary wall is the collective grave of seven airmen of the Royal Air Force.

Unit: 100 Sqdn. Bomber Command
Aircraft: Lancaster Mk. III, serial ED653
Target: Stuttgart, Germany
Incident: The Lancaster crashed at Bohain-en-Vermandois. There were no survivors.

1585869 Sergeant George Edgar Pascoe, Air Gunner in 100 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 15th April 1943, aged 20. Son of Mr. & Mrs. B. G. Pascoe of Mingoose House, Mingoose, Mount Hawke, Cornwall. His headstone bears the inscription "In Loving Memory Of A Dear Son And Brother"

66495 Flight Lieutenant Reginald James Shufflebotham, Pilot in 100 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 15th April 1943, aged 30. Son of William Hassal and Lilian Shufflebotham; husband of Winifred Mary Shufflebotham of Blythe Bridge, Staffordshire. A Schoolmaster. His headstone bears the inscription "I Have Fought A Good Fight, I Have Finished My Course, I Have Kept The Faith"

130237 Flying Officer Albert Frank Towers, Navigator in 100 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 15th April 1943, aged 28. Son of Tom George and Mary Ann Towers of Hillingdon, Middlesex. His headstone bears the inscription "A Good Son And Brother. Our Thoughts Are With You Always"

129921 Flying Officer Sidney Herbert West, Bomb Aimer in 100 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 15th April 1943, aged 28. Son of Ernest Sidney Alexander and Margaret Louise West of Bath, Somerset; husband of Lilian Amelia West of Bath. His headstone bears the inscription "To Live In The Hearts Of Those You Love Is Not To Die"
