BEVERWIJK GENERAL CEMETERY

Location Information

The town of Beverwijk lies 12 kilometres north of Haarlem, and 20 kilometres north-west of Amsterdam. The cemetery is on its north-western outskirts, in the road called Bankenlaan. In the south-eastern part of the cemetery are the graves of the servicemen.

33396 Flight Sergeant Weston Robert Berry, Royal Australian Air Force, died 12th June 1943, aged 29. Son of Raymond George and Florence Matilda Berry, of Dungog, New South Wales, Australia.

1453475 Sergeant William Edward Cunliffe, Navigator in 12 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 12th June 1943, aged 28. Son of Edwin and Minnie Cunliffe; husband of Dorothy Cunliffe, of Hythe, Kent.

R/115668 Flight Sergeant Keith Benedict Davidson, Air Gunner in 12 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force, died 12th June 1943.

1452106 Sergeant Alan Arthur Gill, Air Bomber in 12 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 12th June 1943, aged 20. Son of Roland and Eliza Gill, of Sherburn-in-Elmet, Yorkshire.

1284001 Sergeant Frederick Norman Pink, Flight Engineer in 12 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 12th June 1943, aged 26. Son of Frank Ormond Pink and Maud Frances Pink; husband of Mabel Elizabeth Pink, of Peckham, London.

1114117 Flight Sergeant Horace Shepherd, Pilot in 12 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 12th June 1943, aged 29. Son of William and Elizabeth Ann Shepherd, of Rhyl, Flintshire.

620520 Sergeant Leslie Stephenson, Wireless Operator/Air Gunner in 12 Squadron, Royal Air Force, died 12th June 1943.

J/16069 Flying Officer Howard Cedric Treherne, Navigator in 12 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force, died 29th June 1943, aged 22. Son of Randolph Howard Theherne and Margaret Treherne; husband of Veronica Treherne, of Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.
