Bachy is a village and commune 111 miles (18 kilometres) south-east of Lille, near the Franco-Belgian border. The nearest railway station is at Cysoing on the Lille-Ascq-Orchies line, which is 4 kilometres south-east of Bachy, but taxis are available there. The communal cemetery is at the north-eastern end of the village on a minor road leading north to the neighbouring village of Wannehain. The British grave is about 20 yards north-west of the entrance.
