Location Information

Appenwihr is a village and commune in the Department of the Haut-Rhin some 9 kilometres south-east of Colmar.

No. of Identified Casualties: 7.

All the Airmen were in 460 Squadron and killed on 28th April 1944.

Burial Details

1338347 Flight Sergeant George Henry Brown, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, aged 21.
 Son of Frank William and Margaret May Brown, of Shepherd's Bush, London. His headstone bears the inscription "He Is Not Troubled With Care But Is At Rest With God"

1452911 Sergeant Gordon Cranston, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

1038479 Sergeant Basil Forshaw, 
Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, aged 23. Son of Louis and Gertrude Jane Forshaw, of Ainsdale, Southport, Lancashire. His headstone bears the inscription "Eternal Rest Grant Unto Him, O Lord; And Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him"
