In the churchyard, some nine yards from the south-western corner of the church, is the grave of an airman of the Royal Air Force.

Son of Jack and Constance Wass; husband of Ellen Florence Wass, of Gillingham, Kent.
His headstone bears the inscription "Only Good Night, Beloved, Not Farewell"
He was a dispatch driver and died in a collision with a vehicle in the dark while on duty.
