Location Information

The village and commune of Bursard is 16 kilometres north-north-east of Alençon, about 3 kilometres east of the road from that town to Sees, Gace, Bernay and Rouen (N.138). There are 2 Commonwealth burials of the 1939-1945 war here, in the north-eastern corner of the churchyard.

148458 Flying Officer Francis Carr, Navigator in 487 (R. N. Z. A. F. ) Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 30th July 1944, aged 24. Son of Francis and Emily Carr, of Swinton, Manchester. INSCRIPTION. ETERNAL REST GIVE UNTO HIM, O LORD; AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HIM. R.I.P.

116119 Flight Lieutenant Robert Henry Clark, Pilot in 487 (R. N. Z. A. F.) Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died 30th July 1944, aged 24. Son of Robert O. Clark and Edith N. Clark, of Fulham, London. INSCRIPTION. THERE'S SOME CORNER OF A FOREIGN FIELD THAT IS FOR EVER ENGLAND".
